👋🏻 Hello

I'm a software engineer and technologist who has spent over twenty years building software. I enjoy bringing novel approaches, such as behavioural science, to software design in order to create unique products.

Writing

I write on X and my blog. Here are some of my most read articles:

• The Gruen Transfer is Consuming the Internet
• I Will Not do you a Quick Favour
• Withnail and AI - We've Gone on Holiday to the Future by Mistake

Datablast

A digital product consultancy I founded in 2013. We combine digital strategy & design with software engineering to redefine the boundaries of business potential.

Fat Tony's

I created Fat Tony's as an online community for fans of Nassim Taleb and his ideas. This grew into an annual meet-up and podcast, where I had the opporutniy to interview some of the world's most interesting people, such as Stephen Wolfram, Jim O'Shaughnessy, and Gummo.

Metaverse Estates

I started Metaverse Estates as one of the earliest land parcel developers in the Decentraland and Sandbox Metaverses. When Facebook rebranded to Meta, and metaverse tokens went paraboic, I cashed out, recognising a bubble when I saw one.

Podcast Guest

I am occassionally invited to speak on podcasts. Here are some of my favourites:

• Designing The Invisible (Creative Odyssey Podcast)
• Humanising Technology (The Human Risk Podcast)
• The Bed of Procrustes (Rational VC Podcast)
